Pranayini

Let me tell you a little about the story behind this song. The tune itself took form some time around the early 2012, but without a suitable scribe to pen some verses to go along with it, it took a backseat in the hustle and bustle of life’s happenings. This is, until I joined Lakeshore Hospital, Kerala as an Anaesthesia resident. There, on another busy day in the post-surgery recovery area, I met my colleague and eventual eloquent lyricist, Chithra.

 

Over the course of the next few weeks, Chithra had the lyrics ready. Then, all that was needed was the music itself. Here,I took the help of our merry maestro, Charles. He arranged, programmed and mixed the music for the song at his studio.

 

In the months before the recording session, I remember skipping ice creams to save my voice! Charles introduced Sheetal to the project and she added her mesmerising voice to it. I also had dreams of making a music video for the song, but that not yet come to be. I am sure that’ll happen some day!
